  I love the concept of the restaurant. Everyone eating together, even strangers can become friends. The food was good. I wasn't overly impressed, but I think they do a great job of elevating humble ingredients. My biggest concern would be that there aren't really great ways to accommodate small children. Sure, they have a few high chairs, and a changing table in the bathroom, but there isn't much room. Be prepared to get bumped. So many times staff and guests had to excuse themselves as they maneuvered around our baby. Not exactly family friendly.

  This is a hard review to write. My husband and I used to LOVE this place. The food is, in fact, very good. Not all of the dishes, but I would say 75% of what we tried far exceeded expectations. We had even managed to build a bit of a relationship with one of the waitresses and the floor manager because we had been so many times. The last time we went was about 4 weeks ago. When we went in, they were about 45 minutes from closing. The hostess was frigid, bordering unkind, and suggested that we could sit outside on a freezing night as our only option or wait for a table to open, "but, we're about to close so that's not a great option". So we waited a few minutes as we had brought two out of town guests to enjoy our favorite local spot and were determined. As luck would have it, four spots together opened at the bar, so I put my jacket down on one of them and called my group over and headed off to the restroom. When I came back, the group was walking outside. I followed, wondering what had transpired. They told me that they had been nearly forced out of their seats by Ruby, the hostess, and told that only groups of two were allowed to sit at the bar. I'd never heard of such a thing. I went back in to talk to the floor manager to understand what had happened, so I went to the hostess stand and requested to speak with him. Ruby made an all out bee-line across the restaurant to come over and verbally accost me. "IS THERE A PROBLEM?!" Head cocked, hand on hip, extremely biting tone suggest she’s had it with our party. She interrupted me as I was talking to the other hostess. I simply said, "I'm sorry. I don't wish to engage with you anymore tonight. You've been rude to everyone in our party. Can I please speak with the manager?" She went over and talked to him, and then came walking back up to me and said, "Go right ahead he saw the whole thing and knows you're full of it." (She literally said these words - I was FLOORED).
  
  So the manager waved me over to the corner and we spoke for a bit. As I said, we had met him several times before on previous visits, so he was trying to calm down the situation and level with me, but was very defensive of Ruby despite having not heard any of the conversation. He explained we never should have been pulled up from the bar, but claimed that Ruby wasn't THAT aggressive. It was nonsense. She should not be allowed to treat people that way. We talked about it all evening. Ruby was obnoxiously, over-the-top rude to every single member of our dinner party including our out-of-town guests. There's no defending that. Perhaps she had a bad day, but this isn't the first time she's behaved quite badly.
  
  I've waited several weeks to write this so as to remove the emotion from the moment. There's no denying it, Ruby's behavior was so unprofessional and unacceptable, that I remember all the details over a month later. Luna has lost two good customers because it refuses to keep its employees in check, acknowledge when mistakes are made and make things right when they are CLEARLY done wrong. We won't be returning.
